Give online through SecureGive

There are several benefits to you and NorthPointe by giving through SecureGive

  • Faithfully Honoring God  – The Bible teaches that we are to honor God with the “First Fruits” of our labor (Proverbs 3:9). By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify, you can ensure that your First Fruits are faithfully given back to God.
  • Simplicity – You can easily set up an app on your smart phone to give weekly or bi-weekly as you choose or manage your recurring giving at any time.  Once recurring contributions are set up, you won’t have to remember whether you gave this month or send in an offering by mail when you’re on a trip.
  • Security – SecureGive is used by thousands of churches and security is their number one priority.  Online giving is more secure than giving with a check or cash because an electronic gift can’t be lost or stolen.
  • Helping NorthPointe – SecureGive is much easier for our church to process, and recurring giving allows us to better plan ahead for the growth of ministry.

Why Should I Give?

  • Giving helps me grow in my faith.
  • Giving supports the ministries of NorthPointe Church.
  • Giving allows me to be a part of God’s impact here in Binghamton.

One of the greatest measures of spiritual maturity is how we handle the resources that God has given us.  Stewardship, honoring God with our finances, is a form of discipleship that will help you to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus.

How Much Should I Give?

The Bible teaches that every believer should give a minimum of the tithe.  Jesus emphasized this when he spoke about giving.  The tithe is 10% of our income which goes to the local church where we are actively involved.  Anything over the tithe is an offering, which is a way to honor God through giving sacrificially.

Is My Gift Tax-deductible?

All contributions are 100% tax-deductible.  Giving online through SecureGive or using an envelope on Sundays or mailing this in during the week allows us to keep records of your giving.  Giving statements are mailed quarterly, as well as at the end of every year, to help you keep track of your giving.

What Does the Bible Say?

Did you know that Jesus spoke more about giving than on things like; Heaven, prayer, and even faith.  Here are just some of the things the bible says:

Giving Faithfully draws me closer to God.
“Where your treasure is there your heart will be also” – Matthew 6:21
Faithful giving is key to live a full life.
“Tell them to use their money to do good.  They should be rich in good works and should give generously…By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may take hold of real life.” – 1 Timothy 6:18-19
By giving faithfully I get blessed.
“’Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my temple. If you do’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘I will open the windows of heaven for you.  I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in!  Try it! Let me prove it to you!” – Malachi 3:10
Giving faithfully brings me happiness.
“There is more happiness in giving than in receiving” – Acts 20:35
Faithful giving reminds me that everything I have belongs to God.
“But remember the Lord your god, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” – Deuteronomy 8:18

Tithe Challenge

Why do we tithe? The Bible says, the purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in our lives. (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB) Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life.  The word “tithe” comes from a Hebrew word that literally means a tenth. Ten percent of everything belongs to the Lord.

One way we at NorthPointe want to encourage you to honor God in this area of your life it by committing to the tithe over the next 4 months.  Not only will you be obeying God but God will bless you in return.  We will help by encouraging you along the way.  So how about it?  Are you ready to take the Tithe Challenge and experience God’s best for your life?
